Catholics also not in favour of Yoga

A front page story of the Daily Express today `adds flowers to the Fatwa (Edict) on Yoga'. Headlined `Catholics also not favour of Yoga' the story by Durie Rainer Fong was sourced from a Kota Kinabalu Sacred Hearth Cathedral Youth Counsellor George Thien.

"The Catholic church's advise to Christians is also `not to go for it (Yoga)," Thien was quoted as saying.

The counsellor was commenting on the National Fatwa Council's edict banning Muslims from practising yoga, which is said to involve in mantra (chants) and the concept of oneness with God based on Hindu beliefs, thus, deviate the faith of Islam.

Thien said it was not difficult to understand the reason for the Fatwa.

They believe in one God and not in any other. Meditation in Yoga is like tapping into different realm but where is the source? We in Christians believe in Jesus Christ and that every peace and joy only come from the Lord. That is why we do not go deep in Yoga," Thien was reported to have said.

.....right to any religious beliefs is a divine right given one by God. Does the "real and only" God exist only among followers of Christ and Islam?

To me there is only One God. All religion teaches or preaches the same that is to be good there is no any religion that ask you to steal or murder. So what can that be so wrong for a person to chant, sing gospel or even to read the quran. It is all the wrong teaching of the individual that think that it is wrong. If you are a good follower of any religion then its your own will power to remain happy with the religion you are following no preacher or chanting can change your will power.
