Speaker defeated by Assemblyman

The Speaker of the Sabah Legislative Assembly Datuk Haji Juhar Mahiruddin lost his post as head of the Batu Sapi Umno division last night. He was defeated by Sekong Assemblyman Datuk Samsudin Yahya in a straight contest.

Samsudin, who is Juhar's nephew, was the division's incumbent deputy chief.

Over in Sepanggar, the division incumbent chief Datuk Uzair Yahya also lost to the division former youth head Jumat Idris.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Haji Aman and Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Yahya Hussin won uncontested as heads of the Libaran and Petagas Umno divisions, respectively.
