Putatan MP: Yahya wants to be MP

UPKO's Vice President and Putatan MP Datuk Dr Marcus Majigoh says Sabah Umno's secretary Datuk Haji Yahya Hussin wanted the Putatan parliamentary constituency to be given to Umno to contest in the March 8, 2008 general election and the candidate was to be himself (Yahya).

"The call by Yahya to be the Putatan MP candidate is not a new thing as he had personally asked me to give up the seat for him. He (told me) wants to be an MP before retiring," Mojigoh told Daily Express reporter Chris Maskilone Sunday.

Mojigoh said Yahya repeated the call again when Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak opened the Putatan Umno division annual delegates conference last year.

Mojigoh was commenting on Yahya's statement on Saturday (refer to my earlier posting) where he said that Putatan should be given to Umno to contest in the next general elections.

Yahya was also reported to have said that despite the contribution given by Umno to help wrest the Putatan seat for UPKO, it was not reciprocated and instead `they questioned the issue of Ketuanan Melayu and our sincerity' which he likened as kacang lupakan kulit.'

Mojigoh said: "To me, to ask the Prime Minister to tell the young turks of Umno to slow down on the Ketuanan Melayu issue is a normal suggestion. If that statement is considered as kacang lupakan kulit than that is grossly misinterpreted or unless it is ill intended."

"We know for a fact that the issue of ketuanan Melayu is only supreme in the Peninsula. Are we in the same situation as in the Peninsula," Mojigoh asked.

"The Bajau, Dusunn, Murut, Brunei, Bisaya, Rungus, Iban, Melanau, Dayak, are there tuan too? After all we all adore the same King, the Yang Dipertuan Agong," he said.

My Say:

Tabik Tuan YB Mojigoh!!!

I view the request to reduce kadazan dusun representatives. They will do that as long as they can increase their number. Maybe up to 24 UMNO MPs and one PBS or UPKO or SAPP or LDP MP

Is Malay and Muslim unity a bigger issue than Malaysian unity? What gives? Are we still locked inside ethnic and religious boundaries divided by irreconcilable differences till we become a failed state? We appear headed that way.

We the multi-religious peoples of Sabah will reject any "ISM" of religious influence to overcome HARMONY that has for so long rules the Malaysian states of Sabah and Sarawak!

Ketuanan Melayu gaining foothold in Petagas? The Idahan (Idaan) , the orang Sungai, the Cocos...etc...of Sabah's east coast...indeed they ar Moslems....but their ethnicity is KDM!
