National Tadau Kaamatan 2010 in KL

Federal Information, Communication and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim said the government may host the National Tadau Kaamatan and Gawai Open House celebrations in Kuala Lumpur from next year.

"Having the event in Kuala Lumpur will enable Malay-sians in the peninsula to learn more about the culture and heritage of the Kadazandusun in Sabah and the Dayak and Iban in Sarawak.

"We want to enhance national integration by helping all communities to learn more about the people of Sabah and Sarawak," he told a meeting with media editors in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah yesterday.

This year's celebrations was held yesterday at the Padang Merdeka, Kota Kinabalu which was launched by Head of State Tu Haji Ahmadsah Abdullah and attended by Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Haji Aman, who is indisposed, was represented by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan.

It is even better for the Federal Government to declare a 2-day National Public Holiday on 31st May and 1st June (or any other suitable dates) for the Kaamatan and Gawai Festivals in order to enhance the national integration as propagated by the PM in his 1Malaysia concept. I have put up a suggestion @ http://linundus.blogspot.com/search/label/National%20Holiday

...very wise thought of gundohing SJ Disimon....but 1Malaysia is supposed to be conducive for all races under the Malaysian sun...and since we have 2 "national day" Sudoku...31st August 1957 & 16th September 1963...then the accomplishment of 1Malaysia can only be realised through the actual facts of history.

Our younger...and more learned "East Malaysians" ...they shall pursue this 2Malaysia question over times in future. So....is it 31st August 1957 or 16th September 1963...East or West Malaysia...Bunga Raya or Rafflesia?

...and by the way....King Cup may not be right, it's simply my thought!

Baby Boy...King Cup.
